TPA-11/56x computer

Building on the successes and lessons learned from the TPA-11 family of computers, during the 1980s the KFKI Measurement and Computing Research Institute(KFKI MSZKI) started to develop 16 and 32-bit computers based on LSI technology on two lines, related to the high-speed 32-bit synchronous bus system (Xbus).

On the 32-bit line, the goal was to develop a TPA-11/56x (x∈{1,…,4}) multiprocessor computer compatible with the DEC VAX(Virtual AddresseXtension) architecture by emulation. ( Picture on the left: 561 machines, right picture: 562 machine parts).
